These beautiful hand-dyed scarves are made by refugee artisan women in The Maisha Collective, a project of Heshima Kenya. Heshima Kenya is an organization in Nairobi, Kenya devoted to addressing a crucial gap in care for unaccompanied and separated refugee girls and young women between the ages of 13 to 23 from Somalia, Ethiopia, DR Congo, Sudan, Rwanda, and Burundi, as they experience the highest rates of exploitation and abuse. The Maisha Collective is an entrepreneurship training program where these refugee artisan women design and hand-dye scarves and textiles. Each scarf tells a story and is a work of art! You can wash by hand or machine wash on gentle cycle and hang dry. Refresh the scarf by ironing or steaming.
